Chris Russo inks new three-year deal to continue on SiriusXM's 'Mad Dog Radio'.

Chris (Mad Dog) Russo is staying put at SiriusXM, but he will be seen and heard.

Russo has signed a new three year deal to continue on with SXM’s “Mad Dog Radio.” He will also add a television element, joining forces with MLB Network to host a daily baseball show to be simulcast on SiriusXM’s MLB Network Radio.

Russo’s radio show, which will air on SXM’s rebranded “Mad Dog Sports Radio” will be scaled back from five hours to three hours (3 p.m.-6 p.m.) beginning next week. The MLB Network simulcast, which will debut in 2014, will be an hour-long show beginning at 1 p.m. ET.

“I’m fortunate to be able to continue to give my listeners my kind of sports talk radio each and every day,” Russo said. “I’ll also get to emphasize my passion for baseball with my new role. This allows me to do what I do best while also reaching new audiences.”

The Daily News previously reported Russo would be headed to MLBN for the daily simulcast.

Russo’s old-five year deal with SXM, which gave him his own “MDR” channel, was worth $15 million. Industry sources said even with the addition of the MLBN gig he likely saw his salary reduced.

While there was no shot of Russo going back to join his partner Mike (Sports Pope) Francesa at WFAN, Dog’s handlers did have discussions with ESPN-98.7 but only for a limited role that would have allowed him to remain at SXM.
