Cops: Calif. man threated to eat roommate, killed dog - CBS News

SANTA ROSA, Calif. - Deputies in Sonoma County, Calif. arrested a man who allegedly attacked his roommate and killed her dog on Christmas Eve, sheriff’s officials said, according to CBS San Francisco.

Deputies responded to a report of a disturbance in Santa Rosa at about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, officials said.

When deputies arrived, they contacted the alleged victim who had run from her home to a neighbor’s house for safety.

The alleged victim told deputies her roommate, 35-year-old Alan Evans, came home and was “talking incoherently and making no sense,” reports the station. Evans then grabbed her head and began pulling her hair and slapping her, according to sheriff’s officials.

Evans then allegedly told the woman he was going to the kitchen to get a knife and that he was going to “eat her,” sheriff’s officials said.

Deputies took Evans in to custody. Deputies noticed Evans was bloodied and later found the victim’s small Terrier dog fatally stabbed under Evans’ car, officials said, according to the station.

Evans was booked into Sonoma County Jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, battery, terrorist threats and cruelty to an animal. He is being held in lieu of $250,000 bail.
