AGAWAM, Mass. (WWLP) - A future dog park has been proposed in the town of Agawam.
That was the reason dozens of dog owners brought their pets to Shea Park on Saturday for their first annual community day. Debbie Sanchez is president of the Agawam Dog Owners group. She envisions a dog park in the not too distant future.
“We want to be able to have a place in town where dog owners can come and socialize with their dogs and become part of the community,” said Sanchez. “For some people their dogs are their children, now they're all grown up or they never had children.”
How large the dog park will be, and how soon they can afford the land, depends on how much money the dog owners can raise at events like Saturday's community field day.
