This dog can run.
Boogie, a pup in Evansville, Ill., met up with the with the runners of a local half-marathon Saturday morning and ran the whole race, NBC 14 reports. Nobody was waiting for Boogie at the finish line with a Gatorade and a sweaty hug. That’s because Boogie’s owner didn’t even know he was running the race, and only found out later when he retrieved his missing dog from a shelter.
The local YMCA awarded Boogie a medal on Monday to commemorate his accomplishment as, according to local police at least, the first dog ever to run a half-marathon without human assistance.
Boogie didn’t comment on his historic feat.
