A touching video of a loyal dog watching over the body of his dead companion despite freezing cold temperatures has emerged from China.
The heart-wrenching footage shows the dog staying with its companion despite temperatures reaching 9 degrees.
The pair are on a road in the city of Yinchuan, north-west China. As well as dealing with temperatures, the dog has to deal with heavy traffic.
The dog's loyalty was spotted by local residents, who filmed his devoted vigil to his deceased companion. They also placed a stool next to the pair to prevent passing motorists from hitting them, according to the Metro.

The dead dog is though to have died just before Christmas. It was unclear how it died, according to the Metro.
The animal was taken from the road to be buried in a nearby park, with his loyal friend watching over him to the end.
