Oklahoma couple worries dog was stolen in SF - krqe.com

SANTA FE (KRQE) - A couple vacationing were ready to enjoy Santa Fe, but their trip turned into a hunt for their missing dog.

The couple, Travis and Amanda Lawler, worries someone might have taken her.

“If we have to go home tomorrow without her - I just can't imagine it,” Travis said.

The Lawler’s planned to celebrate Amanda’s birthday in Santa Fe, and on Sunday, decorations were still up for the party.

When Amanda hopped into the shower Saturday morning, the Lawler’s dog, Lucky, was still outside in the backyard. But by the time she got out of the bathroom, Lucky was gone.

The couple’s tour of Santa Fe was no longer about sightseeing. Instead, they put flyers around town.

While they don't know if lucky just ran away, the Lawlers’ biggest fear is someone else took her.

They hope lucky will be found and returned.

They can't imagine driving all the way back to Oklahoma without her.

"The thought of driving away without our dog, it does really feel like we'd be leaving a part of our family behind,” Travis said.

The Lawlers say Lucky is on thyroid medication so getting her back is very important.

They say there is a reward for information leading to her return.

Those with any information on Lucky are asked to call 405-824-9549.
