Hank the Brewers dog has a forever home, but he still goes on sleepovers now and again, according to Todd Rosiak, Milwaukee Brewers reporter for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
On Thursday, the team pooch went home with Tom Gorzelanny, a relief pitcher recovering from off-season shoulder surgery. Gorzelanny has an infant son and a son, Gavin, who is a little older.
Gavin helped take Hank for a walk, and Gorzelanny posted a photo of the walk on Twitter.
Gorzelanny called Hank "an extremely cool dog. Very chill." Gavin wanted to call him his own.
"He thought it was his," said the pitcher, who had to break the bad news that Hank wasn't.
Gorzelanny is the first player to take Hank home overnight this spring. Former Brewers infielder Craig Counsell, who works in the front office now, took him home Wednesday. Bullpen catcher Marcus Hanel also has had Hank as a guest overnight, according to Rosiak.
