Dog poops on plane, forces unscheduled landing in Kansas City - kdvr.com

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A service dog relieved itself on a plane traveling from Los Angeles to Philadelphia Wednesday, forcing the pilot to make an executive decision and divert the aircraft to the Kansas City International Airport, according to KCTV5.

After the dog did his business in the middle of the aisle of a U.S. Airways flight, passengers were greeted with a very unpleasant smell.

They took to social media to lament their pains.

Passenger Chris Law snapped photos and tweeted, “So the full-sized dog that’s on my flight, well it did what dogs do & went to the bathroom when it felt like it smack dab in the middle of the aisle.”

“About an hour into the flight, I started smelling this terrible smell. I look up the aisle way and there’s a dog pooping right in the middle of the aisle. It’s a big dog, 3′ to 4′ tall or long, and he was just going,” passenger Steve McCall told the Kansas City television station.

While the crew made great efforts to clean up the dog droppings, the smell continued to permeate the cabin.

Then the situation got even worse — the dog relieved itself a second time.

After that, McCall said the stench was so bad that several people were throwing up or dry heaving.

The crew rallied to clean up the second mess, but they ran out of paper towels, reported KCTV5.

That’s when the pilot stepped in and decided to land the plane at the Kansas City International Airport to allow crews to thoroughly clean the dog poop and let the animal out to take care of matters in a less confined space.

According to passengers, the pet’s owner was very apologetic.

McCall said she even asked for everyone’s addresses so she could send them all Starbucks gift cards.
