A Washington state man fatally shot his neighbor's dog — but it was apparently not the same dog that was bothering him.
Molly, a 1-year-old Welsh corgi, died in owner Loyce Andrews' arms in her backyard in Bellingham on Saturday, according to KIRO.
"He just came up to the fence and shot her in the chest," she told the station. "I held her the whole time she was dying; she was on the grass. She was screaming and panting."
"I couldn't believe what I just saw," her husband Cary Chunyk told KIRO. "He turned and just faced me and just gave me this look like, 'I just shot your dog."
David William Latham, 55, had been upset about dogs barking in the area, cops told the station. But little Molly's devastated owners say their dog was not making any noise.
"It's a horrible, horrible way to do die," Andrews told the station. "You don’t do that. I don’t care whose dog it is, you don’t do that. It's senseless, it's ridiculous, it's incomprehensible."
Latham pleaded not guilty to animal cruelty, reckless endangerment and brandishing a firearm, according to KIRO. He was told to stay away from the couple and not allowed to be in possession of a gun.

"I'm scared to death of what he's going to do," Andrews told KIRO. "I don’t know if he's going to come over here and shoot me."
