Flying Dog Brewing Company is offering government workers free tours of its Frederick brewery during the shutdown, with the slogan "You're not unessential to us." The deal includes a guided visit of the facility followed by a trip to the taproom for free samples of any five beers.
Flying Dog tours regularly fill weeks in advance, but these are being offered with no reservation required, as long as you have a government ID. Tours are held at 4, 5 and 6 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, and noon, 1, 3 and 4 p.m. on Saturday. The caveat: A limited number of spaces are available on each tour, and they're filled on a first-come, first-served basis, so show up early.
