Dog left in the car lays on the horn in protest - Boston.com

There are two well-known rules being broken here. First, don't ever film in vertical with an iPhone. Second, and more importantly, do not leave your dog in the car unattended.

Most of the time, dogs (and other pets) won't have the good sense to yell at you for leaving them in the car. They'll simply sit there, trusting you, as the car gets hotter and more uncomfortable until they are injured or worse.

So the burden's on you to not leave them there - unless your dog is Fern. Fern seems to be an exception to the rule since, according to British tabloid Metro, she didn't wait more than five minutes before climbing into the front seat and laying on the horn.

When Ferns owners, Graham and Fiona Haddow, stopped to visit an art gallery, Fern was left to fend for herself. She did just that, and 20 minutes later when the Haddows returned, there was a crowd of people laughing and (poorly) filming the boxer dog's protest.

"A young lad on a scooter told me he had been there from the beginning and it had been going on for 15 minutes," Graham Haddow told Metro. "We had only been away for 20 minutes."

"It was as if she was saying, 'Where have you been? I’ve been waiting,'" Fiona Haddow added. "She is a bit of a diva, she just wants a bit of attention."

With that firm pressure on the horn and her total deadpan expression, it's no surprise Fern expects nothing but the best. With that in mind, you can add a third rule to the two listed above: No fun is to be had without Fern.
