Hank the Brewers dog's 'days as a stray are over' - Milwaukee Journal Sentinel

There's something about Hank the Brewers dog. Readers love him.

But they can't have him. Hank has a forever home.

The Milwaukee Brewers are being tight-lipped about whose home, but Hank's days "as a stray are over," said Tyler Barnes, Brewers vice president for communications.

Hank remains in Phoenix, occasionally working out with the team at Maryvale Baseball Park.

It's clear that he's made his imprint in Milwaukee as well.

At least one email fan credits the ballpark pup for switching her allegiance from the Chicago Cubs to the Milwaukee Brewers this season. Well, not the entire team. Just Hank. But she definitely loves Hank.

Others have written to say Hank looks just like their dog. Lindsay Adams said Hank looks just like the family bichon frise named Cooper, after former Brewer Cecil Cooper.

"Our family enjoys watching Hank and hopes to see him much during the season," Adams said.

On Saturday, the Brewers will host Pet Adoption Day at Maryvale, which will benefit the Arizona Humane Society. Animals will be available for adoption and for those donating to the Arizona Humane Society at the game, Hank will be available for photos immediately after the sausage race. In other news, the Brewers take on the Kansas City Royals.

Hank also will sign the game program with a paw print from an ink pad.
