New Hampshire authorities are searching for the owner of a pit bull that attacked another dog, fatally injuring it, during a hike through the famous Tuckerman Ravine in the White Mountain National Forest.

New Hampshire State Police today released a photograph of a man and a dog, whom they identified as the owner and the pit bull involved in the fatal incident. State Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying them.

State Police said in a statement that the two dogs were with their owners on Aug. 21 when the pit bull attacked the other animal. The wounded animal died three days later, State Police said.

Anyone with information about the dog or its owner is asked to contact New Hampshire State Police Troop F at 603-223-8873.
